LINK Banana Connector

The LINK Banana is a premium audio banana connector built for listeners who demand a premium clean, reliable signal path. Construction starts with a tellurium copper conductor, which is silver-plated, then finished with 10 microns of nickel-free gold plating over the silver — around five times thicker than the sub-2-micron gold-over-nickel coatings used by most competing connectors. That extra thickness isn’t cosmetic: it’s what keeps the contact surface conductive and corrosion-free for the long haul, so performance on day one is still performance ten years from now.

Housed in matte black brass with an internal polymer insert, the LINK Banana keeps the housing electrically isolated from the connector itself while shielding against electromagnetic and radio-frequency interference — so what you hear is your music, not noise picked up along the way.

Developed as the next generation of the acclaimed KRYO Banana, the LINK Banana carries forward a proven design and improves on it in three key ways: this heavier, nickel-free gold finish, a cable insert increased to 5mm to accept a wider range of cable gauges with a more secure fit, and a new copper pillar that reinforces the banana blade itself for a stronger, more durable connection.


Why 10 Microns of Gold Matters

Not all “gold-plated” connectors are equal. Plating thickness is measured in microns (μ), and most connectors on the market carry less than 2μ of gold over a nickel base — a coating thin enough to wear through with repeated connect/disconnect cycles, exposing the nickel underneath to oxidation and corrosion.

The LINK Banana is different:

  • 10 microns thick — roughly 5x the gold coverage of typical audio connectors, for a contact surface built to last.
  • Nickel-free construction — copper is silver-plated first, then finished with 10 microns of gold plated directly over that silver, with no nickel layer in between to dull conductivity or trigger nickel-allergy reactions on contact.
  • Consistent low contact resistance — a thicker, purer gold surface resists tarnish and oxidation, so signal transfer stays clean connection after connection.
  • Built for the long term — where thin flash-plating can wear through in months of regular use, 10 microns is engineered to outlast the cable it’s terminating.

In short: the gold on a LINK Banana isn’t there to look good in a photo — it’s thick enough to still be doing its job years after installation.
